5. On the paper work side of things, when recording I will need the following:
- Risk assessment: If I were to record for example at a trampoline park, I wouldn't be able to bounce while recording due to me not being focused what's happening around me, if I drop the camera and land on it etc.
- Location release: Gives me permission to record in certain buildings, for example college.
- Minor talent release: For those under 18 who will be featured in my video.
6. The only thing that will impact me when making videos is the Health and Safety regulations, this means I wouldn't be able to spend numerous amounts of time looking at a computer screen editing my videos due to it being unhealthy.
7. Hardware and Software:
Photoshop: Thumbnail for the video
Sony Vegas pro 13: Editing the video
DSLR: To add a few parts at the start of the video
A Computer: Edit the video and create the website
PowerPoint: Design the website

Creating vector graphics

For this task we chose two detailed pictures from the internet and zoomed them in to see the quility drop and identify the pixels in the picture, after we investigated the image we converted it into a vector image. A vector is an image made out of shapes and not pixels, so when zooming into the image you can see the shapes used to re-create the images as shown above. We decided to do this task so we can see the difference between vector and bitmap images when it comes to resolution and pixels.

Health and saftey
What is the purpose of each document?
Recce:Recce asks for your personal information for example they ask you for your home address and phone numbers this is because they know who to contact or where to go when there is an emergency.
- Location release:This agreement sheet is to protect both location owner and the production company regarding the production location. The Location Release Form outlines when a location will be used, the dates of use, an insurance agreement, and an acknowledgment of liability.
-
Minor Talent Release:The minor talent release form is for people to fill out if they allow others to take photos of them for example students can fill out a form to either allow or deny photos being taken of them and posted onto the website or some sort of social media.
- Adult Release Talent
A talent release form is a document that gives you the camera crew permission to distribute and sell your video or film with the permission of your talent. The form protects you from your talent getting cold feet after the production has wrapped.
Risk assessment
A risk assessment is a form that you must fill out when carrying out an activity on what can be dangerous and how problems can be avoided for example if you were to do a science experiment you would need to wear goggles to prevent any serious items from getting into your eyes. Risk assessments can also be found at your work place and the sheet will tell you what some risks might be and how to prevent them. The 5 steps for risk assessment are:
Step 1: Identify the hazards.Step 2: Decide who might be harmed and how.Step 3: Evaluate the risks and decide on precautions.Step 4: Record your findings and implement them.Step 5: Review your risk assessment and update if. necessary.
thinking ahead to assignment 3 all of these forms/sheets are really important because you need permission from other people to upload their unique videos or just simply having photos of them on your website.

Image manipulation
When looking over the different size types of the images anything above 100% size will be too pixelated to use on websites and this could cause a website to look sloppy however anything below 100% will be suitable for a website as it looks more sharper and less pixelated.
The photo above shows the file size of the resized image before and after the file has been compressed.

Learner Diary

Week 1,
During the first week we were introduced into a new way of analyzing media text using 'Distinct' and with this method you can analyse any media text you want. For those who don't know what Distinct is then the picture here --->
this picture will provide you with everything you need!
Week 2.
We have been given a task to redesign the East Norfolk College
Sixth form website and make it suitable for all genders and specifically
people aged between 15/17 years as these are the ages looking to apply
and attend college. We were given this brief by the client.
Brief: What the client wants us to do.
Client: East Norfolk Marketing Team
Primary audience: The main people you want your website to target.
Secondary audience: people who may be interested in your website that you might pick-up along the way
Demographic: What age group and sex your website will be aimed towards for exmaple 13yr to 18yr male.
Week 3,
This week we gave been analysing websites and identifying how they are or not suitable for all genders. A primary audience is someone who you really want to target mainly for example if your website was about popular gamer releases then your main target is gamers. Secondary audience is people who you don't particular plan on targeting another example for this would be perfume designed for women however males are interested too. Brand identity is a companies icon they use to represent them, another name for this is also a logo such as the monster logo.

Week 4,
During week 4 we learned about hex codes, a code is used for different types of colour for example using #000000 as a colour code will give you black, there are various codes that gives you various colours you can find out more about this with the picture provided below. This week we have also learned about typography and this is how a font is made. There are 3 main font groups and these are: Sans, Sans serif and mono-space. Serif font has the extra flick on the end of the text however sans-serif doesn't and mono-space gives every letter the same spacing in between. We also learned about the layout for certain websites such as the 3 box layout where one main picture or slideshow is presented in the middle of the page and 2 boxes with pictures in at the bottom, also we learned how to add a bunch of media to a website then add a fixed navigation bar so it follows you while you scroll down the page. The web browser will only be able to apply a font if it is available on the system on which it operates, which is not always the case. In CSS a font family is a set of related fonts and grouped as font families. Font families include include different font sizes, styles and weight for exmaple, font: roman, italic etc. weight: regular, bold etc.

Week 5,
We have been creating various types of website templates for our East Norfolk website we were told to redesign. This will help us when making the mock up because we can have different layouts to chose from and see what ones best. In my opinion the website layout that I have made for the redesign would suit the target audience etc because there will be enough boxes on the homepage for various amounts of news also includes clean text and bright colours. My favourite website layout when researching the designs would have to be the 4 box home page layout. When making our redesigned East Norfolk website we made a mock up on PowerPoint to see how everything looks and if anything needs to be changed/improved.
Proposal
We have been given instructions to redesign the East Norfolk Sixth Form College website to suit it to a specific audience such as all genders and people aged between 15/17 years. This is because the college believes the website can be changed in some way to target everyone who is drawn to the website. After looking at the original East Norfolk website I have identified a whole portion of negative space, here is what I mean.
In my opinion I feel like the current website design is mostly aimed towards parents/carers/elders and its understandable because most parents want to try and find the best college for their child. When I design a website to help target all audience such as students too I will be getting rid of most of the negative space on the page as it can be filled in with more important topics such as what might be coming to EN in the future etc. I will be making the website more colourful so it attracts more audience and changing the layout and fonts. I believe that with a different layout and more colours it may attract a better audience to the college. I wont be changing the logo on the website due to gold represents winning, this also implies that they are a winning college, and they are willing to give it all to help us win and succeed in life. Hopefully I can make a eye catching and suitable website for everyone to be attracted to. When I plan on making my website I will be using different fonts, layouts and colours. My website will consist of the following: 3 box layout which is 2 pictures at the bottom of the page next to each other and 1 main picture or slideshow at at top of the page but below the navigation bar. The font size and styles I will be using are Ariel, 11/12 and bold/nomral. The following colour hex codes will be on my website: #000000 (black) and #ffffff (white)
Website changes based on feedback sheet.
Based on the feedback received for my website, I have made some changes that include both backgrounds on each page. I changed each background due to that's what came up the most on the feedback sheet. In my opinion the website now looks a whole lot better now then it did before.

Fun Photoshop action poster task.
Making an action poster today for the Photoshop task set was successful. Once my final piece was completed I put both saved JPG and PNG files together and compared both qualities of the files. In my opinion JPG looked better to me as I feel there is more colour and detail comparing it to the PNG file.
